Their main aim is to grab public attention, so they equip more radical and sometimes, impractical styles.

These cars have limited driving ability; some of them are unsafe for driving as well. Usually, concept cars are dismantled after their display at auto shows and other events. Some revolutionary cars are kept in museums; people also keep them in their collections.

  • Ford Nucleon: This car was designed by ford as a future nuclear-powered car. It was embedded with a steam engine powered by uranium fission, similar to nuclear submarines.
  • BMW Gina: This was a fabric skinned sports car, which can shift its shape as per the speed. It also has resistance to temperature fluctuations and water.
  • Buick Y-Job: This was the first concept car. It featured Buick running gear. It had smooth bodywork with flush door handles and consisted of electric windows.
  • Citroen Karin: It is a triangle-themed Karin prototype. It was able to three people with the driver in the middle. It was created to revive the brand’s images.
  • Lamborghini Terzo Millennio: Like other Lamborghini’s out landing designs, this one is also wild with fabulous looks. It is constructed from carbon-fiber composite, which heals itself with its nanotubes in case of any damage.
  • Ferrari 512 S Modulo: This car is Pininfarina-designed, wedge-shaped which features a jet fighter-style canopy instead of doors.

Future of Prototype Cars

The craze for cars is never-ending. The latest car prototype models attract huge crowds, making auto shows profitable, but we can’t deny that they are expensive and there are only a few prototypes that made it to production.
